You Don’t Win Alone 🏆
The Longest Roland Garros Final: Carlos Alcaraz, June 8th, 2025.
The unforgettable match lingers in my mind. Five hours and twenty-nine minutes on the clay – the longest in the tournament's history. He was down two sets to one. In the fourth, he faced three match points.
You could feel it slipping. Most players don’t come back from that. But somehow, he did. One breath at a time. One point at a time. He turned it around and took the fifth set in a tie-break that will be remembered for decades.
But what struck me wasn’t just the win. It was what he said afterward. He didn’t focus on his serve or his stamina; instead, he spoke about his team—his coach, trainers, physio, the people in his corner who never stopped believing in him. Even in a one-on-one sport like tennis, you don’t win alone.
That moment hit me in a way I wasn’t expecting.
Because lately, Rich and I have been deep in the trenches—building this wild, heart-led project called Kornerz. And every step of the way, I’ve been reminded of something we don’t say enough out loud:
Just because you’re doing it on your own… doesn’t mean you did it by yourself.
Even if the world only sees you, there’s always someone or many behind the scenes. Holding the weight with you. Giving feedback. Lifting you up on the days when it feels easier to quit.
That’s what happened in that match. And it’s what happens every time we step into the Nook with people who remind us why we started.
Every time someone stays after to keep talking.
Every time someone says, “This is the only space I feel like myself.”
Every time we close a session, no one wants to leave right away.
It’s subtle, but it matters.
We created Kornerz for that reason.
Because too many people feel like they’re carrying everything on their own.
Too many people are craving real community, but all they get is a feed.
So we made something different.
Kornerz isn’t a content platform. It’s a community network.
The heartbeat of it is what we call Nooks live video spaces, where people show up, talk, listen, and build trust in real time.
It’s not scheduled if you don’t want it to be. You can join a Nook at 2 a.m. if something’s on your mind. Or join one of our scheduled Nooks:
☕ Coffee with Philosophy — Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30 am EST
🍸 Hump Day Hangout — Wednesdays at 8 pm EST
These aren’t webinars or classes. They’re hangouts. Conversations. You bring yourself. That’s the only ask.
And the crazy part? We tried everything else before we built it.
Rich, Gabe, and I used video call apps, payment tools, WhatsApp groups, all of it. Nothing worked the way we needed it to.
So we said, “Let’s build the thing we wish existed.”
Just like Alcaraz needed his team, his corner, we’re building ours.
And it keeps growing. From Philly to São Paulo to Tokyo.
Because people are hungry for something real.
So here’s the question I keep coming back to:
Who’s in your corner?
Who helped you rise when it felt like the game was over?
Who reminded you that you’re not alone?
Tag them. Thank them. Or come share your story in a Nook.
We built Kornerz for people like you.
Not to perform. But to belong.
Every time someone lingers after a Nook just to say “good night” or “love you,”
We remember why this matters.
Because belonging isn’t about numbers. It’s about being seen.
See you inside.
