What the Heck Is a Dìonair? Lets Meet Lachlan Kincaid
Magic. Tech. Sarcasm. And one guy who just wanted birthday cake.
Magic is real. Tech is enchanted. And one guy is (very reluctantly) Earth’s last hope.
Let’s be honest—if the world had a cosmic emergency button, would you expect it to be triggered by a sarcastic drone designer from Philly on his 30th birthday?
No?
Well… surprise.
That’s how The Legend of The Dìonair begins.
But First… What’s a Dìonair?
Glad you asked.
The Dìonair (pronounced DEE-uh-nair) is an ancient title passed down through bloodlines—like a magical job nobody signs up for but is cosmically forced into anyway. Think guardian, protector, mystical human firewall.
They’re chosen to keep the ley lines—the energy veins of the Earth and all the connected realms—balanced and protected. No ley lines? No magic. No life. No existence.
The Dìonair doesn’t just fight bad guys.
They keep reality from collapsing in on itself.
Cool job. Terrible hours. No training manual.
And after centuries of silence, there’s only one Dìonair left…
What Is The Legend of The Dìonair?
It’s an urban adult fantasy saga that blends Scottish mythology, modern tech, mystical realms, and just enough sarcasm to make you snort out your coffee.
At the center is Lachlan “Lach” Kincaid, a clever, slightly grumpy, drone-building tech guy from Philadelphia who has zero clue he’s descended from a sacred lineage. Until one birthday tour of the Masonic Temple goes sideways… and the ley lines start waking up.
Now he’s the last Dìonair.
And the universe is on fire.
⚡ Why Should You Stick Around?
Because this story has:
Mythical relics that glitch if you don’t believe in them
Enchanted drones (yes, really)
A sarcastic AI named GIO (pronounced “G-O”) who gets a magical upgrade
Realms like Avalon, Tír na nÓg, and Fardach
A fae queen, a demi-god mentor, and angels who only show up when things are really bad
And a chosen one who would very much like to un-choose himself, thank you
Plus—at its heart—this series is about belief. Not just in gods or magic, but in yourself, in others, and in the idea that balance is still worth fighting for.
Where Do We Begin?
Right here. With Lach.
The guy who just wanted a slice of birthday cake and got a cosmic calling instead.
Let’s meet the man behind the legend.
Meet Lachlan Kincaid: The Reluctant Tech Hero Called to Save the Realms
Some heroes are born into destiny. Others trip over it on their 30th birthday.
That’s how it starts for Lachlan Kincaid—tech innovator, foster kid, and occasional smartass—who’s just trying to make it through life one drone project at a time. But fate doesn’t wait for comfort. Not when the ley lines—those invisible lifelines that hold our reality together—are beginning to fracture.
And certainly not when you’re the last Dìonair… the only living Guardian of Balance.
It All Starts With Lach
Before the visions and relics and binding rituals, Lach was just trying to outrun his past. Raised in Philly’s foster care system after his parents’ mysterious deaths, he grew up building things—machines, walls, escape routes from pain. His genius for tech made him a quiet success, designing drones for search-and-rescue missions. But something was always missing.
That something wakes up on his 30th birthday during a tour of the Masonic Temple.
He touches an orb.
It glows.
The world tilts.
Suddenly, he’s seeing glowing lines across the Earth—threads of ancient energy only he can feel. The ley lines are alive. And they know who he is.
Lach At a Glance
Age: 30
Birthday: January 7 (shared with his best friend Callum)
Height: 6 feet
Look: Ruggedly handsome with untamed hair, blue eyes that sometimes glow when his powers kick in, and the kind of build you get from climbing cliffs instead of going to therapy.
Personality Snapshot:
Tech-Savvy & Restless – Drones. Code. Puzzles. If it has wires or secrets, he’s all in.
Fiercely Loyal – Mess with his people, and you’ll see the Dìonair in action.
Witty & Wounded – His humor cuts sharp, but it’s covering something deeper.
Burdened by Purpose – He didn’t ask for this calling, but he won’t run from it either.
The Journey: From Reluctant Guardian to Cosmic Leader
Each book in the series adds a new layer of danger, discovery, and heartbreak:
Book 1: Awakening the Ley Lines
Lach discovers his powers in Philadelphia and is thrust into a global web of ley lines, relics, and rising darkness.
Books 2–6: Alliances & Ascension
From the Seelie Court to the depths of Fardach, Lach builds the Guardians—an alliance of mortals, gods, angels, and mythical beings. He learns to fuse magic with technology, creating enchanted tools, drones, and relics to protect Earth’s lifeblood.
Books 7–10: Fracture & Finale
As belief weakens and chaos grows, Lach faces betrayal, loss, and cosmic threats. In the final stand, with the ley lines unraveling, he must sacrifice everything to restore balance.
Powers of the Dìonair
Elemental Control – Earth, fire, water, air. All connected to the ley lines.
Binding Rituals – Soul-crushing rituals used to banish corrupted beings.
Ley Line Manipulation – Sensing, stabilizing, and amplifying energy across realms.
Magitech Fusion – Tech-enhanced magical tools (think drone guardians and enchanted grappling hooks).
The Stakes: Magic Is Dying
The Tighearna, led by the merciless Ciaran the Hollow, want to sever the ley lines and enslave humanity. They’re not just power-hungry—they’re trying to replace belief with fear, and Lach is the only one who can stop them.
But darker forces stir behind them—Éval, a primordial entity of chaos, who feeds on broken belief and forgotten myths, seeking to ascend as the sole god.
As the Guardians unite, they’ll journey through:
Avalon, land of healing
Tír na nÓg, realm of eternal youth
The Gates of Hell, where even Lucifer has a part to play
Meet the Core Allies
Callum Macrae – Lach’s best friend since foster care, a quiet architect with hidden powers and deeper feelings than Lach realizes.
Ronan Caerwyn – Stoic demi-god mentor. Fierce, protective, and slowly falling for Lach.
GIO – AI turned magical hybrid. Your new favorite snarky sidekick.
Lady Aine – Seelie Court queen. Power, wisdom, grace—and a political powerhouse.
Gabriel – Celestial messenger with quiet strength and a deep respect for human free will.
Themes That Resonate
Legacy vs. Identity – Lach doesn’t just carry a bloodline—he redefines it.
Belief as Power – Magic lives where faith does. Doubt has consequences.
Tech + Magic – The future isn’t about choosing one. It’s about balance.
Sacrifice & Redemption – Every hero must face what they’re willing to lose to save the world.
